From whence cometh the Name.

The Name Calvary Temple was placed in the heart and mind of Pastor Nettles during choir rehearsal at Zion Temple COGIC, under the directions of then Deacon Cross, the church minister of music. After rehearsing the song "Because of Calvary" about 10 to 15 times, it got so much into Pastor Nettles' spirit that he begin to meditate and reflect back on the price that Christ had paid on the cross of Calvary. It was then that he realized with a greater sense of gratitude, that Yes! It is all because of Calvary. If there were no Calvary there would be no forgiveness of sin. If there were no Calvary we all would not have a right to the tree of life. Pastor Nettles then believed with out a doubt that we all must meet Christ at the cross of Calvary to get a truer understanding of what he really done. Pastor Nettles realized, after singing the song "Because of Calvary" many times at Zion Temple COGIC that God had given him the name of the Church he is to Pastor. Hence cometh the name Calvary Temple COGIC "Because of Calvary, We share Victory"
